RC Models

RC models have been made of almost every type of vehicle and they are enjoyed by a number of people across the world, many of whom build and operate RC models as a hobby. The most common type of RC models are cars and many people who want to get involved with RC models as a hobby will start out with a simple car kit.

RC models can feature either an electric or petrol driven motor. RC models with a battery powered electric motor are usually cheaper, but many people consider those with miniature petrol engines to be much more fun because of amount of noise and smell they cause. Some RC model with petrol or nitro engines can travel at surprisingly high speeds and it is very important that appropriate safety measures are taken when using them, particularly RC models of planes and helicopters which have the potential to cause quite a serious bit of damage should they collide with a person.

RC Models in kit form that require assembly are very popular, and there are a great variety of them available. Some RC model kits are very simple to assembly, whilst there are more advanced ones available marketed towards the more experienced hobbyist. Some enthusiasts shun the RC models that are bought in kits and instead prefer to make their own RC models entirely from scratch, however this requires a great deal of technical knowledge.
